Upgrading special weapons in Elden Ring requires rare Somber Smithing Stones, which can be difficult to find in large quantities during early exploration. Securing the Somberstone Miner's Bell Bearing 1 allows players to purchase unlimited basic Somber Smithing Stones to streamline weapon progression. Obtaining this essential key item ensures your unique armament stays strong without spending hours searching for individual drops.
Locating the Sellia Crystal Tunnel in Caelid
The Somberstone Miner's Bell Bearing 1 is hidden inside the Sellia Crystal Tunnel, located within the treacherous region of Caelid. Players can reach this dangerous dungeon early by opening a trapped chest located in the Dragon-Burnt Ruins of Limgrave. Alternatively, you can travel east across the continent on horseback directly into the scarlet rot-infused swamps.
Confronting and Defeating the Fallingstar Beast
To acquire the bell bearing, players must brave the hazardous mine corridors and challenge the dungeon boss. The area culminates in a fierce encounter against the aggressive Fallingstar Beast. Utilizing high-mobility tactics and physical damage resistance will help you survive its brutal gravitational attacks.
Unlocking Unlimited Special Weapon Upgrades
Once the Fallingstar Beast is defeated, it drops the key item immediately into your inventory. Take the item to the Roundtable Hold and offer it to the Twin Maiden Husks. This permanently unlocks an infinite shop supply of Somber Smithing Stones 1 and 2 for all your special weapon needs.
